The application of this new technology can create great opportunities in many areas, but it also brings enormous risks. I also believe that it is easier for us to see opportunities than to foresee risks, and because we are faced with progress that moves very quickly and often exceeds the ability of politics to keep up.”

Sector start-up fund
At the forefront of digital transition driven by artificial intelligence, Giorgio Meloni then he reminded that “a special support fund is being established startups Italians in the sector. I believe that we would be exposing ourselves to enormous risks if we considered these areas to be free zones without rules. We risk having many people and experts in the world of work who will no longer be needed. We saw something similar with globalization that led to the verticalization of wealth and the suffering of an impoverished middle class. Lack of control over supply chains the fundamentals forced us to discover, when the shocks arrived, that there was an underestimation of the risks, for which we were therefore not prepared”.
Technology that guarantees competitive advantage between countries
“The arrival of artificial intelligence – explained the Prime Minister at the time – will inevitably have an impact on our democratic systems, the challenge will be to avoid interference in a world where it will not be easy to distinguish what is real from what is not. So artificial intelligence is destined to have a significant impact on geopolitical scenarios and current balances, simply because it is a technology that guarantees a competitive advantage to those who manage and use it. Just as it happened, and is still happening, for other technologies, starting with energy. History has taught us that the competition to gain that advantage and the differences between those who have achieved that advantage and those who have fallen behind can cause tension, if not outright conflict.”
